I knew a guy that setup a street/strip Firebird convertible. He cut the front shakers open and removed the guts. He cut open the rears and replaced the cast iron piece and spring setup (and fluid) with heavy 50 lb steel weights, then welded them back together, adding 100 lbs of weight in the rear.
Was it a F.A.S.T. car, or did he just like to keep it looking stock? Hope he added subframe connectors, and solid body bushings.
