A high-school kid can REBUILD a carburetor, aside from re-bushing the throttle shafts perhaps (assuming the core is good.)

The trick is the recalibration as performed by the carb tuner, which is often done as part of the "rebuild".

If you're not recalibrating the fuel curve, do it yourself.
