Owner was fortunate they did not get hot enough to ignite the gasoline that was in each car. Surprising actually. In Ohio, the owner would be allowed to buy back the cars from the insurance company at some sort of negotiated price between scrap value and a higher price the insurance company would attach to the collector value of the cars. Then the title would be either a salvage title initially, or a rebuilt title after they are fixed. Either type greatly degrade the value of the cars to a collector. Of course crafty collectors always find a way to "wash" the title and it shows up years later with a clean title again from another state.
