In addition to the story on Dr. Lane's Judge, I think he advertised it as 1 of 17 Judge Convertibles and had proof that there were only 17 made.
Most didn't know/realize how rare they were.
After that more info started coming forth on the rest.
Took a long time to get most of the info on the remaining Judge converts.
Steve Hoog dedicated a lot of time to tracking these down.
