Another year has gone by so it must be time to update this thread.
Jim Robertson from the forums has been working on the YE engine for this car. He call recently and said the engine was ready to dyno. Yay.
Before going into the results of the dyno session here's a bit of a backstory. To say this car had been mistreated in a previous life is an understatement.
Pictures speak for themselves, but it was obvious the YE was home to a family of critters at one time. The first picture is what I came upon the day we picked up the car. Thank goodness the Moroso??? valve covers oil cap openings were taped over to prevent moisture from getting in the engine!!
Then, during engine teardown, a few more surprises were found. Not only were the pistons frozen in the cylinders, but the layers of rust in the bottom end were enough to scare even the most optimistic that this engine might not have a chance of coming back from the dead.
But, after a few months soaking in Liquid Wrench things loosened up, the teardown was completed, and it was time to see if she could be resurrected.
