Just a clarification, my reference to CR is the carb jetting. We changed from CR rods to CE rods to rich the fuel mixture.
Compression ratio is stock around 8.4. The block is not decked.
Reading the posts on page 93 of the 455HO Forums is a good starting point for how it's done.
Balanced rotating assembly. A great valve grind. 1.65 rockers, a custom designed cam grind, some head porting to improve cfm flow. Those are some of the improvements done. There is more but the rest is over my head. Maybe Jim can chime in and explain some of the other tweaks to reach this power. One thing I can assure you, it's not impossible. The results speak for themselves.
