We met at Harshman Automotive in Smithsburg, MD this morning (Jack, Demarcus AKA Mook, and Randy Harshman). Randy uses a Land and Sea Dyno-Max 2000 Pro. Jack began with a Holley 850 DP and the engine did not like it. The AFR was a bit lean and the best pull with that carb was 464 hp at 4600 rpm and 596 tq at 3525 rpm.
He then put on a Holley 950 List 80805 and things got crazy!. Jack tried 34,36, and 38* timing and the engine liked 38* timing the best. The pulls with timing and the dyno sheets are below:
3k-5500 rpm pulls:
518 hp @ 5422 rpm/631 tq @ 3683 rpm (38*)
510 hp @ 4843 rpm/628 tq @ 3607 rpm (34*)
510 hp @ 5356 rpm/630 tq @ 3684 rpm (36*)
521 hp @ 5373 rpm/632 tq @ 3684 rpm (38*) - best pull
2k- 5k pull to check torque resulted in 530 tq at 2k rpm!
