Unless you are in a big class ( which the car cost's huge money) the pay out is small. Odds are not with you going round after round. you have a 50 50 on a grudge race.
Don't get me wrong I like bracket racing, a grudge race that you have money on really gets your heart pounding.
Yes Richie is bad ass and cam build a hell of a motor!!!!

I won't take that bet. But would be willing to bet the great majority of bracket racers and grudge racers are upside down when comparing the amount of money spent on their cars to their winnings.
I don't know the highest pay outs on a bracket race. I believe Jeff Verdi won North of $200,000 two years in a row at a single race. That's considerably more payout than I've ever seen at a no-prep or grudge race. It would also be a heck of a lot cheaper to build and maintain Jeff's car than a high end grudge/no-prep car capable of winning that kind of money. Another thing to take into account is money paid out by manufacturers to a winning car with their sticker on it. I'm sure they won't make a pay out to the winner of a race that's ran in an industrial park

.
Unless you're doing this at a pro level your not going to be able to quit your day/night job.
I also disagree you have a 50/50 chance on a grudge race. More times than not a bet won't be placed unless a racer feels he has the better odds of winning.
