Not sure if there were others, but the ones that people call the "Mickey Thompson" blocks were cast by Harvey Aluminum for a development project by PMD. Pontiac wanted to evaluate chrome-plated bores in aluminum. The bore plating wasn't successful, and somehow(?) Mickey wound up with the half dozen or so blocks. Most of them were almost direct copies of a 1960 389 block, but Tom S had one with the later bolt pattern on the rear. I have two of the others. Tom's oddball one was only one number away from one of mine (Dxxxxx).
