Well, I've been traveling a lot the last few weeks and that's slowed progress on the big stuff, but lots of little stuff is getting done before and after work. However, Don the upholstery man brought back the seat frames yesterday and that provided plenty to do today. The good news and bad news on the seats is the front seats already have ACI seat foam and the foam is in great shape. The bad news is that the seat backs were junk and upon looking for replacements I discovered they were actually 1970 seat backs. The frames were in pretty rough shape, but after about 5 hours of sandblasting me and MPD have them looking good. I have to be honest though, 5 hours of sandblasting outside with a mask, hood and coveralls in 90 degree weather took it's toll. I am beat.

Regardless, the frames look good now. I think instead of painting them I am going to get them powder coated. It's not so much about durability as it is laziness. I can't imagine how many cans of primer and paint it would take to get these things well coated, and the beauty of the powder coater having the powder cling to the metal out of a fog of dust via an electrostatic charge seems irresistible.

Here's a few pictures.
