That looks like a decent car. I'd say you paid about a much as you should have for it if it's drivable and...depending on how much rust you can't see yet.
These can be very nice cars and the desirability is going up on them. They've really grown on me over the years. GTO people have largely overlooked them for most of the last 45 years.
I agree with Rex on the engine...for most of the people who would be interested in that car a Chevy engine is going to hurt the value rather than help it. Even in a big block. Pontiac people are MOSTLY loyal to Pontiac power.
Find a decent Poncho 400 and drop it in. Until then, especially if you're going to flip it, run that 350.
