Took an original wheel house into the shop, heated up a patch of undercoating & diligently wiped it off using only a plastic scraper & wax / grease remover as to not monkey with the finish.
I feel a lot better now.
its really close in sheen & texture. Took a few photos where I tried to catch the same lights in the shop.
