Do not know what your Chargers recommend for Oil type and weight but when you reached about 240 degrees on the oil temp you were now STARTING to degrade the oil life based on your above post with the pan filled with conventional oil.
A peak temp of 244 degrees says that the oil cooler is trying to do its best to stay around that temperature.
So I see no real issues if your department has normal oil changes on pursuit vehicles around 3K vs the typical manufacturers 5K deal.
The rest of the vehicles can stay at the 5-6K oil change recommended by the Factory.
