They should match.
Probably the have a blank 'PZ' plate then stamp the id stuff on it when tranny is being installed.
(or whatever plate is needed like PD, PC, etc)
The partial VIN would have the plant where the car was built.
If it wasn't a 'N' then it's not an original plate.
