China is such a big market for vehicles and industry there are MANY MANY Forging houses for steel products. One of the largest Turbo manufacturers has a new massive Plant in China and is using China Aluminum, China Steel, and China Workers to put the stuff together.

So to assume that a few places are making all of the parts might be a stretch.
There are 'layers" of manufacturing: Jim/Bob's Forging House, ABC Forging House, General Motors Forging House, etc. GM sells more vehicles in China than the USA/ Mexico and possibly Canada sales combined in a year. A Lot of Buicks.

SCAT has a high enough volume that they can use a quality Forging House. And possibly they still do all of the machining of their cranks still in the USA. Being "spot on" with a SCAT crank does not surprise me.

Kind of more of a question vs. an assumption. I ask because I really don't know.
You say SCAT uses a quality forging house. I gather SCAT has the ability to Xray, if you will or do whatever else is needed to determine if the forgings are up to their standards?
Again I'm asking as I know very little about this.
Is SCAT the only one doing this?
I have a SCAT 4.25 forging from Butler's and a Star Galaxy 4.500 forging from FrankG. I don't really care which one I use, but I prefer the better of the 2.
