If you're talking about the outside (fender side) edge of the tire, 4.5" BS on a 7" rim would be the same as 5.5" backspacing on an 8" rim. If you're talking the inside (suspension) edge, the 5.5" BS brings the rim in 1" (closer to suspension components).
