I was fortunate enough to be able to tour Leno's car collection in Burbank about ten years ago and in addition to looking at all of the finished cars and motorcycles talked to the four full time (it was four then dk about now) guys he had restoring cars. They were at the time restoring a Deusenberg and I don't remember what else. I asked the head guy what they painted chassis with and he said Rustoleum. I didn't ask him how they prepped the metal beforehand.
