Jeff the only question here is if YOU believe Delorean would risk his career and would order Pontiac Engineering to install a 421 into the new Tempest body as Wangers story goes. If the 421 had been discovered the fallout would have been devastating, both for Delorean as well as Pontiac and General Motors.
Fortunately the Wangers story was untrue. Later in his book, Wangers clears both Delorean and Pontiac Engineering of any involvement by his admission that he installed the HO421.
