A "Thousand RPM Idle" with an automatic transmission is just silly.
Fix the fuel curve so it idles decently,
turn down the idle speed, and "POOF" the problem is solved.
This is not a detonation problem. This is not an octane problem. This is a "throttle blades are open too far" problem.
