This is my 10th Great Grandmother Mary B. Dyer, wife of William Dyer. They arrived in Massachusetts in 1635, probably on the second trip to the New World. She was an avid follower of the Quaker religion and banned from the Colony. She was one of the 4 Boston martyrs who died trying to have the laws against the Quaker religion repealed. Tho she was to hang in 1659 she was given a reprieve, only to be caught again upon returning to Massachusetts. She was hung in 1660.
My uncle Bill, William J. Dyer, who was a toggleier with the 385th BG during the early years of WWII; was named after Mary Dyer's husband William.
