My base is stock, but I had moved the bowl vent hole for the newer carb, so the hole fits a 78 APT Q-jet. Probably your template wouldnt work on my set up and Ill need to make my own "locator stud" Thats all, and thanks for the help!
1972 ~vs~ '78 Q jets have a bit different Vent hole "chimney"
