Working from memory here ... Often points don't need to be changed ..... If they are burnt they can be filed...... if they are burnt unevenly [more one side than the other] the condenser is bad .... Condensers have a finite life span, they deteriorate inside from age, even if not being used. Heavy springs are meant for and work well for Hi RPM use but the rubbing block wears more quickly resulting in more often adjustment of dwell.
Please correct me if my memory is off on ant point ...... happens lately.
