Hi all, how about this 7042272 that I have. Are these Carter made Q-jets somehow different than Rochester made? I´m hesitating in putting hundreds of $ to rebuilding old carb that is not original for the car. Anybody using SMI Q-jets? How is the quality and craftsmanship?
Chief of the 60´s, (QUOTE So buying a good carb similar to what he is already running... ) Good point. Considering I´m not very familiar with Q-jets.
As for intake, the main reason for staying with existing manifold is that it´s original to car and in excellent condition. I´ve understood it´s good manifold and supports easily my hp levels.
