That way you can keep your exhaust. The 3.5" downpipe doesn't have much more area than one of your 3" pipes. Here's a little chart showing area of pipes.

Wow did not think the 3.5 “ was that restrictive , I might be able to fit a 4” have to do some test fitting when I take my down pipe off next time .... what size were you able to fit ? We have the same car basically.
