I fired it up, much better! no leak. However now I have that dreaded whistle as soon as you rev it, and then rpm comes down it goes away... Well some of the time.
It wouldn't be the result of the "black" anti-slosh thing I installed? I assume no.
Carb base plate gasket to center section "looked in great shape" when I took it apart. All 6 screws with correct locking washers tightened.
My guess is the intake manifold gasket to 1" spacer, on both sides.
I've never troubleshooted a whistle before.
