My car is Arlington built as well. Clips looked like zinc or cad plated but the rolling chassis was left exposed to the elements for several years before I recovered it in 2015 so it's possible the painted finish had worn away.
Here are a couple of pictures taken when I had to throw the chassis together so I could work on the body and replace one of the quarter panels.
