Update on car #18 on the list.
Replaced the floor pans, a couple of small trunk floor patches and the entire LH quarter panel. Everything else is original metal (door, fenders, cowl, rockers, braces etc). Oh yeah...also have a reproduction hood since my original has a nasty kink.
14 months into the project so far and it's finally painted. Still cutting and buffing in preparations for reassembly. Due to a mistake in the booth, the hood ended up with a bunch of dust on top of the final coat of clear. Wasnt sure it would buff out but it looks like its going to be okay. I just need to go back and wet sand with 2000-2500 and polish it again. I skipped ahead just to see if all the dust specs were sanded away so the finish is a little hazy on the hood. The hood should polish nice to match the other parts after I go over it one more time.
Was hoping to have the car running in time for it's 50th birthday (May 27th) but sadly it won't be there just yet. Will pop a beer and have some cake anyway.
