A FULL DAY OF WRENCHING.
Had been away for a week and half and 8 am decided it was time to get'er done.
Humidity level were outstanding,
so I managed to apply a low pressure wash to everything under the hood while I put it all back together AGAIN.
Install shorter alignment dowels, CHECK!
Install composite head gasket, CHECK!
Bleed off tappets AGAIN, CHECK!
RE-Clean all gasket surfaces, CHECK!
Climb into bay to be sure to lower head straight down, CHECK!
Torque head bolts in steps and confirm with back up wrench to be sure, CHECK.
Finish second cup of coffee and take two back & body before the stiffness sets in, CHECK!
Proceed with cam house installation, CHECK.
Check timing alignment and install belt lock down the SB Sprocket, CHECK!
Re-Install manifolds & Carb with all related hardware, CHECK.
Re-Install Alt & PS pump, CHECK!
Re-Connect all hoses, belts and wires related, CHECK!
Time 12:45, LUNCH!
Choke down a BLT, CHECK!
Check and top off all fluids, CHECK!
Clear, FIRE!
Happy to say I just returned from testing on and off all day and all is well.
Less a minor exhaust sealing issue at the flange to manifold and carb adjustment to be completed tomorrow am.
Rain just got here as well as the stiff shoulder.
I NEED A BEER!
