I spent most of my adult working career working for two of the 4 main oil additive manufacturers. I've posted stuff before, nothing new to add (other than RohMax is now mainly called Evonik), so my info is in the achives, if anyone is interested.
ExxonMobil is the only company I know of that actually refines their own base oils, and makes SOME of their additives. I never worked for them, but shipped to & from them.
Generally, I use Mobil1 when it is close in price to everything else, but will buy "on sale" if the price is several bucks cheaper. I use CompCams break-in oil, too.
