I hope it is too. I hear a "double tap" and I dont think there is anything else that can cause it. Especially after the converter bolts have been checked/verified. I would think if its flex plate related, you would see some sign of a crack, like a rusty spot or be able to push or pry on the plate in a way to make a noise.
