I decided to take it one step further and look up a few more. Looks like 1970 and 1971 non-Trans Am were each one year only parts for the Control, but for Trans Am they list them as using the same part number for both years. Maybe the wood grain finish changed between those two years? Not sure if that was the case, but it appears something did change between 1970 and 1971 for all but TA.
