With the Spaz Stix, you paint the object gloss black and put the chrome on top of it.
If you look closely, you can see the masking tape on the panel I posted pics of. I did not want chrome peeking out of the edge of my woodgrain so I covered the previously-sprayed black on the edges with tape.
On my particular panel, I wanted to preserve the distinctive '68-only blue inside the gauge pods so I masked them off as well. Again, looking closely you can see the tape inside the pods.
All that to say, I would personally feel better about spraying the Spaz Stix last so that you don't have to pull masking tape off of it. It may be find though...I've never tried it.
