I did it recently. Nearly all of the shipping companies aren’t actually shipping companies they are dispatch companies who work from the same database.

IF. Your dates are flexible you can do it pretty cheaply. If however you were like me and needed pickup and drop off within a pretty tight timeframe. The price goes up.

There is a website that is essentially an auction site. It’s easy to use, I initially accepted a cheap bid, like $650. But I quickly realized no drivers wanted to pickup for that on my schedule. I called another company who told me I needed to make the price more enticing for someone to want to meet my needs. I ended up paying like 1200 for California to Indiana and it was mostly painless.
