Australia have more weeks in their year? In the remainder of the world getting paid for 13 Weeks out of 52 without working is exactly 25% of the year that a person does absolutely nothing but receives payment. Now this all will sort of work out if the pay scale is 25% less and it is simply a shift of benefit payments. We always come back to "there's no free lunch" principle and there's only so much of the pie to split. An example would be that some of us would choose $40 an hour rather than the $30 with the $10 being stocked away by an employer for benefits or future payments. Or another example is your boss comes up and offers you an additional two weeks of paid vacation, but you have to take a corresponding pay cut to get it.
