I'm diabetic, so donuts aren't on my diet any longer, but if you're ever in Erie PA there's a local place called Mighty Fine Donuts, and another local donut shop called H & K Donuts. I grew up in Erie and lived there until I was 47 and consumed quite a few from both places until In my early 40s I was diagnosed with diabetes.
I'm going to say Mighty Fine was probably my first, with H & K a close second, KK & DD not even close to either of the aforementioned. I almost forgot another place called, Jack Frost donuts, All local, and all good.
