George is just reliving his childhood where he always wanted to be like Arnie Beswick and run a Blown GTO on the race track. The old GTos with a blower were solid 8 second cars and George has a solid 8 second car.
He had no feeling for 5 second Fords with Turbos and 281 cid engines, JSPONT.
And he really does not care about fast small displacement cars and engines with EFI.
Everything is Old School: Blower, Dominator carbs, Zoomies, 1974 body, 1974 chassis technology.
Takes a man, like Beswick, to drive a car with a blower and that crap for a suspension system.
Todays Pro Mod Technology is constantly being updated. Chief runs Marty P's old Pro Mod 70 GTO but with some chassis upgrades. George's Chassis IS consistant and gets him down the track. Apples and Oranges comparison JSPONT. And it is George's car.
