OMT - Were your floorboards sagging? I had to massage the floorboard on my 2nd gen 'bird right where the brace was when I went to 1350s, but I just used a floor jack and a piece of wood and jacked the floorpan/brace back into place. Problem solved.
Both my 71 & 72 A bodies were find, no problem with the 1350s. I'm not familiar with the 1st gen A bodies though.
