The point of my post was missed. I'm not surprised that would turn into a "to do or not to do" LOL
The point was that we can't blame a filter for catching everything if the bypass is open. There is oil that isn't being filtered AT ALL. Plain and simple. Doesn't matter how good the filter is with an open bypass.
