I can tell you what cam is not a good choice for your application … the one you have that requires octane booster to keep it from pinging.

I inspected the lifters as requested by Lunati. They didn't show any signs of being messed up. Then I sent them their cam back.
I'm the one who actually did find the tick. I know it was the cam and lifters because I fixed it by switching the cam.
One thing though;
I have yet to hear of anyone who used these heads Sam, Firebob, and I have with the 703 that didn't have a tick.
