Because most people are like myself, and probably just don't care. I care about violent power. I could care less if there was only 1200 cars that year that came with a 175 hp straight six and a three on the tree.
Don't get me wrong, I have a respect for the truly rare. I wouldn't yank a 302 out of a Z28 even though you probably make more power with a Blueprint 383. I just feel like a base model economy engine doesn't qualify for protection just because most of them went to the junkyard or got pulled.
