Sure,many of us had the 4 door under powered cars when we were younger. But, what we really wanted was the 2 door hardtop or 'vert with the top of the line motor. We had to settle for the cheaper ride for economic reasons. And today, if looking at two very similar vehicles (make, model, mileage and condition) one being a 4 door sedan and the other a hard top or convertible which one would sell faster.
