Not that easy to hit 300 at the wheels with a 400. But you still haven't mentioned what you made. Did I miss it?
I wouldn't say anything went wrong given the specs you provided. A few years ago a bunch of Pontiacs hit the chassis dyno. Including myself with my stock 400 RAIII, auto. I made 301hp while most of the other 400 cars were in the 270-280 range, and some of them had aftermarket cams and what not. A few of the 455's barely hit 320-330hp. But I've had a lot of years racing and tuning on the car. That day I was running 13.60's at 102 at the track at a 3900 lbs. race weight, which coincides well with the RWHP numbers I put up.
Edit: Okay I see it now. 217 is lower than I would have expected for that combo.
