My car is a first week of June Norwood car;
The bird is on the far right.

I acquired a replacement dash insert for my car a couple years ago from a member here (the clear is lifting off my original) and it too has the bird on the far right.

When I went to look at my dash inserts to confirm the bird location, I may have stumbled upon an unexpected answer for these "no bird" dash inserts;
I have a 1972 dash insert which was for a non-AC & no-gauge car;
It was modified to work for a gauge car;
While looking at this, I also confirmed with another one of my dash inserts, that on a non-AC & no-gauge car, the bird is placed just about bang-on-centre were the far right gauge pod ring goes;
So, this 1972 dash insert I have appears to be setup for gauges, but has no holes for a dash bird.

Is it possible that this is why on occasion members were able to find dash insers with no holes to mount the dash bird?

It is also worth noting that the '73 Formula which my brother owns also has the bird on the far right.
