Its funny, because as cool as a stick is in a muscle car, I would not want a stick as my daily driver. But always would prefer a stick if I am going out for a cruise. I am guessing thats how most people were feeling when buying these cars new. Especially if your daily commute was in traffic. With a few exceptions, most of these cars were daily drivers to work, school, wherever. Today these cars are the fun to drive classics & many leans toward the manual trans, but I am guessing that was not the case 50 years ago.

30+ years ago I had a GMC Jimmy with a stiff aftermarket clutch setup that was a beast to drive. Todays manuals with all their improvements are so easy on the driver by comparison.
