So then why was the class so slow? Surely a 427 can do better in the 1/4. Also, Super Stock had to use the factory block. Did a '66 Canadian Pontiac have a 427? Was there even a 427 in 1966?

There is nothing in the 1967 rule book for either class but those classes do show up in the 1973 book, so this is a later photo. "U" class is 18.00 to 18.99 and "V" class is 19.00 to 19.99. Both seem very slow which tells me that this car may be a 6 cylinder. Both classes are also automatic.

Side note.... Bad Banana, the car in the far lane, was a local car for me.
