You had to beef up the front end. The stamped steel crossmember would stretch out from the added weight, spreading the front uni-body frame rails and you couldn't get the alignment into specs anymore. Anyone who paid any attention to the "H" body cars back then will remember the camber on the front wheels would be way out of wack.
