The '73-77 8.5 A-body rears came both ways. I couldnt tell in small picture from OP's post. The easiest way to tell without pulling the drums, is look at the housing ends, c-clip version axle tubes will neck down @ the very end. C-clip axle rear of these years will use nuts & bolts to attach the backing plate. Factory bolt in axel 8.5 rears of this model will use T-bolts that one can see the head of on back of the backing plate.

For performance builds for '73-77's, I typically build off the tapered bearing bolt-in axle housing, have pulled several 3.23 8.5 factory coded rears out of '76 & 77's & all so far have been bolt-ln axle.
