I am posting this for both you, and for any member who might be interested in buying this, as avoiding a deal that goes sideways after money is exchanged always seems ideal to me.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me regarding 1972 application Quadrajets can speak up:
My gut reaction after seeing those first couple pictures of the application code, pick code, and date code stampings made me think that they didn't look right;
then I noticed this is a Carter manufactured carb.
As far as I know, Carter
never manufactured parts for the 'Ram Air' spec carbs - I have been made to understand that all those (67-74) were done in house.
Carter was to the best of my knowledge contracted to supplement production of the 'pedestrian' applications - which was normally 'L78' 400-TH400 & 'L75' 455-TH400.
Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice looking carb, but it looks to have been recoloured, and reassembled at some point;
The vacuum break in the front is a new replacement part, and the choke assembly is from a Buick application carb.
Posting pictures of the casting numbers for all three components might help your cause.
