I hope to not be upsetting you with my posts;
I can picture myself being in your shoes, so please understand I am meaning well.

the latter bleeder screws, and plugged throttle body front vent(?) could be explained away;
I may be wrong, but it also looks like the rear vacuum feed has the wrong thread tapped... which again could be explained away;
But, all of these points are worth noting as red flags.

What cannot be explained away is this:



It looks quite clear to me that the divisional identifier has been ground off from this spot in an attempt to make this throttle body appear more correct.


I must take pause to stress what Brad pointed out, Carter manufactured carbs were not stamped in the same manner as Rochester manufactured carbs, so his point is as I see it, is an air tight fact that aside from anything I have said, more or less determines the potential of authenticity.

If the carb is set up properly, odds are that it would still be a great fill in for a missing RA carb.
