I see you got the pictures working!

That fourth picture shows a plug, and that is the correct for 1972 fuel bowl casting number, so that tells me this carb started it's life as any of the following:
7042262 - 455/auto (A & G body)
7042264 - 400/auto (F, A & G body)
7042272 - 400/auto (full sized)
7042274 - 455/auto (full sized)
7042276 - 455/auto (full sized; altitude)
7042278 - 400/auto (full sized; altitude)
